Why Not
In one of my travels, I visited Vancouver, Canada and attended a seminar. Some of you may know this person and some of you may not. Well, let me back up for a minute.
Those that don’t know me that well may not know that I crave knowledge, of course this happened after high school. It seemed like, as soon as I graduated, suddenly I developed this unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
Anyway back to the story: I started attending marketing seminars, personal development seminars…. every kind of seminar that I could find.
(Be sure to view photos and you will see me with some recognizable faces… Robert Allen the author of “No Money Down” ; Mark Victor Hansen, the famous author of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series; and Les Brown, the very engaging motivational speaker just to name a few.)
If You Just Learn One Thing…
I believe in giving back and “Lifting as I climb”, so I’m happy to share what I’ve learned and how it applies to “DANCING’.
You May Know Him…
Here’s a person that I was introduced to at a seminar that was spearhead by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen. His name; T. Harv Eker.
T. Harv Eker shared his views on why it’s so hard for most people to change their habits whether good or bad.
His info caught my attention because it was on point and logical. T. Harv explained how most of us try to change our habits.
Now the biggest challenge as he discuss is that most of us are unaware that our hold backs, failed actions etc., are actually habits in the first place!
Boobs and Buttocks
Example: Do you think we consciously plan to over-drink, over-eat or any of those other things that we promised we wouldn’t do but find ourselves doing them anyway?
Here’s the problem, most of us try to fix the problem from a conscious level or from sheer will-power. But here’s the kicker… the problems are deeply rooted.
The root goes down below the surface into our sub-conscious level which is where change takes place.
( a little deep but I started it)
What most people do when attempting to improve or make a change in their lives, is change the physical or tangible stuff (i.e. new spouse, different job, bigger boobs or buttocks, new church etc. )
The conclusion, until we change the roots, we will continue to produce the same exact fruit.
That being said, there are two things that really struck with me and and here’s your take away also.
And they are:
(1)The way you do anything is the way you do everything. (2) To live life at a level “10” on the “Dial of Life”.
Bringing It Home…Jerome!
Now, to answer your question: what does any of this have to do with dancing? Well, the answer is: EVERYTHING.
The way you do anything, is the way you do everything. So, if you are the type of person, “as my mom used to say”, do some things half-assed, then you’ll do everything half-assed.
Now, since we’ve decided to Play at a Level 10… Then Let’s Dance, Live, Love, Create, Teach, Preach, Learn, and Listen, at a level “10” and lastly,
